SHEEP AND LAMBS:   Drafted & Presented by Auctioneer Scott Miller and Liam Durcan.

12,153 sheep sold, 3563 less than last week.  A very comparable sale to last week with quality up and with freshness and weight.  The yarding was 3500 less – this reduced number, a heavy shower of rain at the start, plus strong restocker activity, pushed market trends up $8 to $10.  Export lambs made up the bulk of the yarding with 26 to 30kg from $182 to $208 and 24 to 26kg lambs $170 to $181, all $6 to $8 dearer.  All trade lambs 20 to 24kg sold to strong competition from $138 to $170 or at $6.60/kg.  Strong demand from restockers saw lighter lambs 12 to 18kg from $74 to $136, pushing all trade and wholesalers before them.

Quotations: A/c PF & BA Burchard 261 lambs from $162 to $185.  A/c AG & EJ Altswager 613 lambs from $158 to $185.  A/c AF & GA Elijah 176 lambs from $130 to $172.  A/c G & RIK Reichelt 246 lambs from $152 to $166.  A/c A Day/Saffin interlot pen of lambs $155.  A/c PC & SL Woolston 147 lambs from $145 to $146.  A/c Kuhl/Nattrass 98 trade lambs $134.  A/c Bassendean Farms 1257 lambs from $122 to $138.  A/c D Saffin 51 shn xbred ewes $109.
